I am talking more and more each day. I now say: hat, ball, done (as in all done) and best of all, "Daddy". I skipped "dada" all together and went straight to daddy and I say it with enthusiasm and very clearly...only problem is, its what I call mom too!
This weekend we noticed that Brooke was saying daddy when I walked in the room. Tonight when I got home from work and walked in the door, I was greeted with a big "DADDY!" Its pretty funny. I think daddy means "parent" to her, but we'll have to work on learning mommy a little more!
(here's a pic of her sunglasses she got this weekend..she thought they were pretty cool!)

I had my birthday party in St. Louis this weekend. Besides having a very fun weekend with my grandparents and Aunt and Uncles, I got to see all of my other family at my party. I got a lot of very nice gifts and had a great time! I thought the balloons were balls and couldn't put them down! Here's a link to all of my pictures from the weekend. Check out my new rocking chair, sunglasses and ball pit! I have more new stuff than I know what to do with!

Here are a couple pictures of me being silly. Mom thought I could try using a spoon, but it was much more fun to play with than to eat with. The other one is a silly game that dad made up. Two of my favorite things are shoes and balls. He showed me that I can put my balls inside of my shoes. Now every time mom goes to put my shoes on she finds them stuffed with a ball!

I went to the Dr. today for my 1 year check-up. First of all, my bronchitis is getting better and I didn't have to get my shots today since I'm still a little sick. I'll have to go back for them, though. I weighed 20lbs, 3.75oz and am in the 30% for weight. I was 29" long and am in the 45% for height. The doctor said I am AMAZING in my verbal and social skills and developmentally where I should be when I'm 14 months. Mom and Dad think I'm amazing too!

I know I don't know a lot about birthdays yet, but I'm pretty sure they say you are supposed to get fun stuff..not a cough and a fever...I was supposed to have a big birthday party with my grandparents and great-parents and Aunt this weekend, but instead I woke up with a fever on Saturday. I still didn't feel very well on Sunday so we had to cancel the party. Grandma and Grandpa Meyer were already here visiting when I got sick, so I still got to see them, but I was very sad to not get to see my other family. They will come visit me soon, though, and I don't really know my birthday from any other day so I'll be just as happy to see them then! I did get a fun present and try to have cake with Grandma and Grandpa, but as you can see, I really wasn't feeling up to partying.

Today is Brooke's first birthday. Its hard to believe a year has gone by! Jason and I brought cupcakes to daycare today to celebrate. She took one bite of her cupcake and then went back to her saltines! (We'll have to work on that sweet tooth) Tonight she got her presents from us. Nothing too exciting since she is getting spoiled with presents from the rest of the family. She got a few books and her first baby doll. The only thing she really cared about though, was this small piece of folded up wrapping paper that she wouldn't let go of all night. I finally had to take it away from her when she got in the bath tub. So, don't waist your $$ on expensive presents..all we need is a little piece of paper! Here are a few pictures from the day...there will be many more to come after this weekend. This is a link to the rest of the pictures and a video of Brooke crawling up the steps on a play-gym at day care and playing ball.

We are finally having some nice spring weather and my mom and dad had some free time to enjoy it today, so they took me to the park. I loved the swings and wasn't too impressed with the horse ride. Here is a video of me swinging. The wind is kind of loud, but you can still hear my laugh!

Mom decided to put me in my chair today to take a picture and then remembered we had done this before. The first picture is from today, about 1 week from my 1st birthday! If you look closely you can even see my top teeth! The second picture is from August '07 (so I would have been 4 months old)
Aren't I sweet when I'm sleeping? Mom came into my room while I was napping to take this. I always hold my blanket with my right hand and tuck my left arm underneath me.
