Grandparent Visit

Grandma Barb and Grandpa Stuart came to visit this weekend. We had a nice relaxing weekend since we didn't have to be packing to move, which was the original intent of the visit. They of course were more than happy just to enjoy time with Brooke and not have to worry about that. (We were too!) Saturday we just relaxed around here because it was too hot to do anything. We did play outside with the dogs and bubbles a little. (see below) Sunday was a much nicer day and we had a fun visit to Manhattan's Sunset Zoo. Brooke loved seeing all the animals.

Brooke loves playing with the dogs these days, especially Macie. Macie is very patient with her poking and prodding and lets her do just about anything to her. Bo doesn't hold still long enough for much poking but is good at giving her kisses!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day, Daddy! Brooke had fun painting a picture frame to give to Jason today. We did this Thursday on my day off and she immediately announced to Jason when he got home, "We painted you a picture!" Oh well, 2 year olds can't keep secrets! She was very proud to give it to him today. Here are a few pictures from our first trip to the pool this summer. Brooke had a blast and is quite the little fish!

Montana

Sorry for the lack of posts...my camera took a trip to Montana with Jason so I haven't been able to take any new pictures. Jason had a productive trip to Montana and Brooke and I survived our week at home without him. We missed him A LOT and it was fun to see how excited Brooke was to see him when he got home. I love to read!

I know I've posted a similar video, but this one is so much clearer...When I went to pick up Brooke from daycare this week, I was told that she enjoyed reading Baby Bear to her friends so I asked her to read it to me. She sat down and "read" (recited from memorization) to me and all of her daycare friends! It was so cute to see them all listen so intently to her! We don't have Baby Bear but she loves Polar Bear and Brown Bear just as much. Here she is reading Brown Bear to Jason and I...

Dress Up

Brooke decided on her own to try on daddy's shoes and vest tonight....

Stickers!

As many toddlers do, Brooke LOVES stickers. Last week, Jason and I were both in the kitchen and we found her covered in her stickers. She can't leave the grocery store without a sticker, whether its from the bananas or the bright orange sticker they put on things to show that you paid for them. Jason and I can't walk through the house without having stickers stuck to our socks!

Brooke has also been full of new information lately. The other day she informed me, "A daddy cow is called a bull." She also knew a mommy horse is a mare and Jason has been working on all of the other animal gender/offspring names. She is visiting Grandma and Grandpa Nickell while we are in Columbia so I'm sure we will have some pictures from Grandpa and stories to post soon!
