So Smart!

Every day we are learning more and more how much is going on in Brooke's little brain! A few days ago, Jason asked for a kiss. Brooke proceeded to lean forward with her mouth wide open and plant a wet one on his face! (We have never "taught" her anything about a kiss before!) Then today, I was on the phone and I looked over to see Brooke with her 5 Little Monkies Jumping on the Bed book; she was pointing to it and saying, "NO, NO, NO" (ie: no more monkies jumping on the bed! I always point when I'm reading that part of the book!) Its amazing how much she is picking up!

Here is a video of what we discovered she knew in the bath tub last night!

And here's one of her "putting on lotion"

Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore!

We have not had very good luck with weather this year. First, we had the ice storm which left us with out power for about 48 hours and some people without power for almost a month. Last Monday we had a hail storm with golf ball sized hail, that left over $1000 damage to my car. Thursday we had a torrential thunderstorm that left our entire basement flooded. So, we spent the next 4 days trying to dry out and avoiding the horrible mildew smell that was slowly taking over the house. The basement finally got dried out on Monday and it was a good thing because Wednesday night we found ourselves camped out in it. A "very large" tornado came through Manhattan. Luckily, it did not hit our neighborhood, but it do a lot of damage to the town and the University. Here is a few pictures I took of the damage.

What is left of the Toyota dealership

This used to be the True Value Hardware Store!

Here is a link to a video of the actual tornado. What the announcer is saying is what we were listening to on the radio as it went through. Keep in mind when you are listening, we live on the West side of town!

Here is a link to pictures from the damage. Click on photos to see more pictures of the damage.

Visiting Oliver in KC

We went to Kansas City Sunday and I got to meet my new friend Oliver. We had a great day at the park and I showed Oliver how to swing!

Here are a few videos of me swinging. This one I am kicking my legs to try to go faster. This one I am saying Please to swing more!

Summer Fun!

We had a fun summer day of swimming and playing yesterday. I loved the pool and could have stayed all day! The first picture I am ready to go play outside. I love my routine of: sunscreen, sunglasses, hat and shoes. I don't even mind sunscreen because I know it means I get to go outside!

Bouncing!

Thanks Aunt Jen and Uncle Dave! They gave me this great ball pit for my birthday. Today I discovered a new game with it..bouncing on the side! I also am enjoying crawling in and out of it. It is definitely one of my favorite toys!
Here is a video of me bouncing. (Don't mind the little tumble at the end, I was fine!)

Playing

I love playing in my new play gym and peaking out at you!

Mom and Dad were doing something on the computer and I decided to crawl into the bookshelf. For some reason I really like this "Veterinary Clinics" book. I get excited every time I see it!

Green, Green, Green!

I love playing with my ball pit that I got for my birthday! Mom and dad noticed that everytime I take a ball out of it, its green! If you look back at the pictures and videos from the last post, you will notice I only have the green balls! This morning mom was in the other room and when she came to check on me, this is what she found. I must love the color green!
